EMIL CHENG, M.D.
Board Certified and Fellowship Trained Spine Physiatrist
Dr. Cheng completed his residency at the University of Utah Health Sciences Center, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, where he served as a Chief Resident in his final year. He then completed a fellowship in Interventional Spine and Sports Medicine at the Chicago Institute of Neurosurgery and Neuroresearch (CINN), and then practiced at the CINN Institute of Spine Care. Dr. Cheng continued practicing non-surgical spine medicine as a partner of New Mexico Orthopaedic Associates in Albuquerque, NM for over 11 years prior to returning to Salt Lake City.
Dr. Cheng is an alumnus of The University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated with honors from the School of Engineering, and earned his medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City, NY.
Dr. Cheng believes in preventative care to avoid surgery, when possible. Dr. Cheng's primary goal is to help patients recover from injury as quickly as possible, through physical rehabilitation, medication management and spinal injection procedures. An expert in occupational and sports-related injuries, Dr. Cheng has extensive experience helping people return to their active lives.

Utah Spine Medicine welcomes Harrison Jendrusch to our team as a Medical Assistant! Harrison is currently studying Biology at the University of Utah. He has experience as a Medical Technician and Certified Nursing Assistant from multiple clinics in the Salt Lake valley. Harrison is interested in pursuing a Graduate degree and conducting research in Molecular Biology. We are excited Harrison has joined our practice!
Amelia has been a medical billing expert for nearly 20 years, in multiple spine medical practices. She understands the nuances of ever changing healthcare insurance requirements. Utah Spine Medicine welcomes Madeleine Odette to the team! Madeleine joins us as a Medical Assistant. Madeleine is a graduate of the University of Utah and is currently applying for the Masters of Public Health program. She is ultimately interested in attending Medical School to become a physician. She has significant experience in clinical and laboratory research. We are excited to have Madeleine working with us!
Utah Spine Medicine welcomes Lily Olson to our team as a Medical Assistant! Lily is currently attending the University of Utah, majoring in Health Society and Policy, as well as minoring in Psychology and Sociology. She has research experience in behavioral and psychological disorders and ultimately plans to pursue a career as a Physician's Assistant. We are excited to have Lily join our practice!
We are excited to announce our new Office Manager, Carrie Reinhold! Carrie started her career in the medical field in 2002 after attending Heritage College where she received her certification as a medical assistant. Over the last 18 years she has worked in Pediatrics, Neurology, Family Medicine, Breast Surgery (Oncology) and Orthopedics. Her love, care and passion for her patients is what drives her every day. Excellent care is her primary objective for every single patient.
